Re: Refereeing question about tonight
To send a keep off in a penalty shoot out would be totally unprecedented and I doubt it has ever happened before, anywhere. Was never ever going to happen.

Re: Refereeing question about tonight
From what I saw, he physically took his yellow card out.. seemed awfully like intending to book then realising and bottling it to me.

Neil Swarbrick, isn't this the same cunt that cost us vs Arsenal?

The Mirallas Tomkins call was wrong all round from the officials - it wasn't a foul (he ran into him), and it was inside the area. They gave it as a foul outside the area! The Cresswell claim was also inside the area and should have been a pen.

Thankfully didn't cost us the game this time.

Mcavennie

I concur with that assessment.

Re: Refereeing question about tonight
I Don't think the ref bottled it during the pens, I think he was just reminding him he had been booked.

The ref didn't cover himself in glory during the game though

Re: Refereeing question about tonight
The Mirallas incident was an example of a common practice by dirty cheating cunts who deliberately hook their foot against the leg of a defender, and then go down in a screaming heap.

It should be STAMPED OUT with extreme prejudice.

thought the ref was ok...didn't "bottle" it when he gave McGeady RED

Re: Refereeing question about tonight
The Tomkins one was clearly not a foul, but to be the fair the ref didn't give it - the thick lino did. However, the ref then inexplicably gave it outside even though it was obviously a yard inside and thus a pen. Almost as if he thought he would compromise by giving them a free kick instead of a pen because he didn't agree with the lino's call.

The ref bottled the decisions all night.

Re: Refereeing question about tonight
Don't think it was a dive but wasn't a free kick

But once a foul was given it should have been a pen

If that makes sense. Two wrongs not making a right and all that

Who cares anyway

Re: Refereeing question about tonight
The cunt should have got a yellow hours before the one he eventually got. At one stage they had a goal kick and he was in his net having a fckg drink

Re: Refereeing question about tonight
The Tomkins one was a massive dive

Re: Refereeing question about tonight
That Tomkins one would have been sickening. Didn't look anything like a foul.

Mr Polite 1:35 Wed Jan 14
Re: Refereeing question about tonight
Don't think he bottled that one Eddie just got it wrong but was tight as only arm was in area, rest of body wasn't

The Everton one however was well in and I think he knew it

Re: Refereeing question about tonight
I'm going to say they can't make a sub during the shootout so one of the players involved in it would have to go in goal.
And if one team is down to 10 men don't the other team drop one out of their list of penalty takers?

El Scorchio 1:35 Wed Jan 14
Re: Refereeing question about tonight
Surely not...

Is that true, face?

Re: Refereeing question about tonight
Ref fucked up. Bottled it. They'd have had to put their smallest remaining player in goal and I believe he'd only be permitted to dive to his left.

I'm happy to be corrected on that second point though.

Eddie B 1:33 Wed Jan 14
Re: Refereeing question about tonight
And given us a penalty too

Mr Polite 1:32 Wed Jan 14
Re: Refereeing question about tonight
He bottled it

But to fair I'm glad he was a bottler otherwise he'd have given a pen against us during the game

Thought the refereeing was pretty horrendous tonight. The great thing being that it doesn't even matter :)

Re: Refereeing question about tonight
No they have to leave the goal empty.
